I was working on my SeeU print, saving often, and then all of a sudden Hypercam stopped recording and Paint Tool Sai gave me an error message. I tried to save my file right away and it said it failed to save. I panicked and googled it right away but couldn’t find any answers. So I closed the program without saving, but it was okay because I had saved probably about 5 minutes earlier. But I was afraid my file was corrupt. I reopened it successfully, but again, it refused to save. I was freaking out. Then I had an idea. I opened Windows Explorer and saw that my C drive had only 250kb of free space. So the reason it couldn’t save was because there was no room to save it! I was SO relieved. I’m in the process of moving a bunch of movies and other large files over to my external hard drive.
But man, that freaked me out. This is one of my best works of anime art (if not THE best), so I did NOT want to lose it. Plus I’ve been working on it for 3 days. She is almost completely coloured aside from a few small details. I just need to finish those, then add a background.

So I decided to start off with actual line art this time and LOOK!

I decided to do the line art AND the sketch digitally (normally I sketch on paper and I’ve never done digital line art before except my Miku attempt in Photoshop which was lined after laid down all the colour). Doing it this way allowed me to see my mistakes easier and then I used Sai for the lovely line art for the first time and oh my gosh it’s so beautiful! Sorry, I’m just really excited because I didn’t know I was capable of doing digital line art. Miku doesn’t count as line art because I did it after the colour :P
As much as I love this picture so far, it took me HOURS to get to this point. And the hands, oh god the hands. I spent forever on them and took some photo reference to help me out.

I completely agree with what you said! I already decided I’m never doing the hair like this again (drawing and colouring-wise) so hopefully it’s better next time!
I’m going to play around with hair and eye colouring methods before making my next print. Thanks for the advice!
My first ever digital painting!
My coloring and shading skills need a lot of work, but I think it’s decent for my first try!
I coloured it without lineart and decided it looked weird, so I added the lineart after the whole thing was coloured.
The program I used was Photoshop.
I was listening to Despicable Me while digital painting, and they mentioned the ballet recital was on a Saturday. And when Gru is in space and the recital ticket starts floating away, it says May 26th. Yesterday was Saturday, May 26th.

I’m always so keen to get rid of my pennies, but lately I’ve been wondering if I should keep them all since they’re going out of circulation this fall.
Years from now, finding a penny on the ground is going to be so exciting!
